In my works of art, I treat memory as a spiritual concept, it is an ode to the dead and to the forgotten. It can be people, places or a floating image, which left me, at the time of departure, a legacy for and of life. It is not their actions or their morals, but simply the fact of their existence that I try to eternalise. There is a visual respect for the nebulous memories of the childhood and sentimentalism and the myths associated with it, concretising their absence by hedonistic repetitions.
Every sculpture and every painting begins with the childish figures that we see in my drawings. Figures without sex, without face, without emotion, who are only present visually in the drawings on paper. In the paintings, they blend into the background and in the sculptures, they leave no trace of existence. Inspired by the paintings and philosophy of Lee Ufan and Ad Reinhart, the installations of El Anatsui and the writings of Kierkegaard, Dostoevsky and Samuel Beckett, my work seriously considers the eschatological aspects of human existence through brushstrokes intentionally repetitive, embroidery and mosaics. monotonous gestures that result in a narrative complextion of emotional work.
